Jade Moses Needs Your Support

Jade Moses The Mortgage Consultant At Nationwide Building Society
Will Be Running The London Marathon on 24th April 2016 representing Shelter
The Housing And homeless Charity On Behalf Of Nationwide.
Jade Moses Aim's to raise at least £2000 For Shelter
Please Help Support This Amazing Charity By Donating At

31 year old Adam Davis is currently fundraising to support his entry in this April's iconic London Marathon. He is looking to raise £1,750.00 for Mind which is a charity that supports people with mental health. Mental health is still a subject which isn't widely spoken about and when it affects your family, you realise the difficulties that people face in getting help and support.

Adam’s sister was lucky enough to be supported by Mind but her road to recovery has been a long and difficult one. He has chosen to run his first marathon not just for the personal achievement but to put himself through a physical challenge and to show his sister that she isn't on her own and that mental health is nothing to hide away or be ashamed off. For the last 8 years, Adam has been a PSCO for Lincolnshire police based in Crowland but in July, he made the decision to change his career for a better work life balance as well as focusing on his marathon training as well as working with Vanessa Dearlove of Pennygate Community Centre to raise awareness of mental health issues & support

Donations however big or small as £1 will make a huge difference and to make a donation to this worthy cause click on the link below.

The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT UK) has launched a scheme to help passengers with hidden disabilities.
Journey assistance cards will be made available to passengers via local bus operators
following discussion with local disability groups and individual passengers.
The cards are not a ticket to travel, but when presented to the driver the cards indicate that the passenger requires specific assistance.
The following Journey assistance cards are available, please download the form from the links below and send it two your local Bus Company who will arrange for the cards to be sent out to you

SPALDING LIONS GLASSES COLLECTION

Spalding Lions have been collecting glasses since September 2002 in that time we have collected approximately 60,000 pairs, they collect from twelve outlets which are as follows, Molsom Optometrists, Munro Medical Centre, Tulip Radio and Monkshouse Scouts & Guides hunt. They also collect any hearing aids and mobile phones in the same bins. When they have 4 of 5 boxes approx - (2,000 pairs) they forward these on to Chichester Lions club where they are processed in their workshop they are then forwarded to Le Havre Lions and Mexico France where they have the necessary equipment to clean and grade the spectacles ready for use in eye camps in Africa, India and Eastern Europe, some have also been sent direct to eye clinics in Papua New Guinea,Ghana,Nigeria and Nepal,we also collect sun glasses as these are needed for patients to wear after eye surgery.

Pinchbeck Library
Pinchbeck Library is now being managed by Pinchbeck Parish Council who are working with the help of a fantastic group of volunteers who are manning the library. The library is open Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 10.00 a.m. until 1.0 p.m. and also open Wednesday afternoon 2.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m.  Pinchbeck Parish Council’s Library Committee have organised for the library to now be open the first Saturday of each month in conjunction with a particular theme.  February’s theme is to be Table Top Sale which will also run alongside our own Police Community Support Officer who will do postcoding to your special property which you can bring along. The important thing is to get people to know that Pinchbeck Library is open, being run by volunteers and we need people to use it. You don’t have to live in Pinchbeck to be a member, you can be a member from any library in the county and still use the Pinchbeck Library.

The Library is situated in what was the former Pinchbeck Primary School which is situated on Knight Street, Pinchbeck. As well as being home to Pinchbeck Library there are four other good sized rooms which unfortunately are under-used. These rooms can be used for exercise classes, computer courses, embroidery/knitting circles, children’s parties, children’s activities, management/board meetings, recruitment interviews and almost anything. The largest room is not as big as a standard room of a village hall. The rooms are much more intimate and are also idea for any discussion group. Contact Pinchbeck Parish Council/Pinchbeck Library on 01775 724348/723838 and email: pinchbeckparish@btconnect.com for further details or to organise a visit.
