The RSPB are having their 30 Birthday Bash at Frampton Marsh and we, South Lincolnshire Astronomical and Geophysical Society have been invited by them to set up a solar viewing area with telescopes and screens for visitors to the reserve to try out some solar observing IN PERFECT SAFETY, as we know looking at the sun without protection can cause serious damage to ones eyes.

NHS Blood and Transplant is reminding people to donate ahead of their breaks to help maintain stocks for hospital patients over the summer.

Lights out.

Residents across South Holland are being asked to switch off their lights as part of a poignant commemoration.
Lights Out is a UK-wide campaign to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War and South Holland District Council is supporting the initiative. The event invites everyone to turn off their lights from 10pm to 11pm on August 4 - 100 years to the day that Britain declared war on Germany. Residents are asked to leave on a single light or candle for this shared moment of reflection.This will be a special moment for the people of South Holland to actively take part in this national event and remember the many people from the District who gave their lives in World War One who enabled us to have the freedom we enjoy today.
