Annual suitcase appeal for children in hospital. This year the appeal is for the Amazon and Rainforest Wards at Peterborough Hospital. New gifts, unwrapped can be handed into either branches of the Co-operative Travel - Anglia Society at Bourne, Market Deeping or Beals Department Store, here in Spalding.
Libraries: the road to theory test success! Learner drivers can now get a helping hand towards passing their theory test, thanks to their local library. Lincolnshire libraries are now offering Theory Test Pro free to members. The service provides a highly-realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory test, for all vehicles. The service can even be accessed from the comfort of your own home, 24-hours a day, by visiting www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/librariesonline. Users do not even need their library card to access the service from library or other county council-run computers, but will be prompted to enter their library card number if accessing the service from home. Wingland Aero Club is asking if anyone has any information and/or photos of the RAF Airfield at Sutton Bridge that they can display on their club house noticeboard. It was originally thought that this airfield was called ‘Wingland’ which is why they named their aero club as they did. Please call Pete Higgins on 01406 362488.
Justice for All is the campaign to ensure everyone is treated fairly under the law, no matter who they are, how much money they have or where they live. The campaign is a coalition of legal and advice agencies, politicians, trade unions, community groups and members of the public. 2012 photography competition: aspiring photographers in Lincolnshire are encouraged to take part in an Olympic inspired sports competition. Under 16s and Over 16s competitions. CLIC Sargent Big Bucket Collection, Saturday 10 December, Peterborough Tesco Extra. The children’s charity is holding its Big Bucket Collection at hundreds of venues across the UKK, aiming to raise over £100,000 for children with cancer this Christmas. They are looking for volunteers to give just a few hours to help collect at the Tesco Extra in Peterborough on 10 Saturday December and would love to hear from anyone who is keen to join in and help out. Spalding Operatic & Dramatic Society ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ Sing-Through, Sunday 11 December, 6pm – 10pm, The Priory School, Neville Avenue, Spalding. In preparation for the society’s 2012 musical, to be staged 22-26 May 2012. This is an opportunity for people to learn more about this multi-award-winning musical, without the pressure of having to audition. You can sing along to the songs and discover the story behind the musical, and decide whether you would like to attend auditions in January. They are looking for a large cast, so whether you fancy being in the wings, in the chorus or in the limelight, everybody is more than welcome.
