IDEA (Improving the Donington Environment for all) is putting on another ‘Casino Night’ on Saturday 13th March 2010 at Donington Community Centre.

Following on from last year’s enjoyable themed ‘Casino Night’, IDEA has organised another one!
With more playing tables and a sumptuous 3 course menu plus drink & canapés on arrival included in the £25 ticket cost, this will be another night to remember!

Tickets £25 each, formal dress, includes drink, 3 course meal, gaming tables etc.


Age Concern Stay Safe Road Show, Tuesday 16th March, 10am-12pm, Broad Street Methodist Church / Wednesday 17th March, 10am-12pm, Boston Conservative Club.

 

Many partners invited, there will be free refreshments, a Homebase discount voucher, and lots of free information and advice centring around Action Against Burglary and staying safe in your own home.


Bourne Choral Society will be performing John Stainer’s The Crucifixion on 20th March, 7.30pm, at Bourne Abbey Church

The performance will feature tenor soloist Ian Stafford and bass soloist Robert-John Edwards. There will be light refreshments and a retiring collection.


Men’s Breakfast, Saturday 20th March, 8.30am, Lighthouse Pentecostal Church Spalding, function room 1.

Portugese Speaking Church, every Tuesday, 8pm, Lighthouse Pentecostal Church Spalding, function room 2.

All are welcome.

Revd John Bennett’s Induction Service, Thursday 25th March, 7.30pm, St Mary and St Nicholas Church, Spalding

 

The service will be conducted by Bishop of Lincoln, The Right Revd Dr John Saxbee. There will be a Faith Supper in the church hall after the service

Tulip Praise Pram Service, every Wednesday, 1.30pm, St Mary and St Nicholas Church, Spalding

Short, simple act of worship for babies, pre-schoolers and their carers, which include stories, action songs with instruments, activities and a prayer. Refreshments are served afterwards in the church hall.


Indoor table top sale, 4th April, 11am-3pm, British Legion Hall, Malting Lane, Donington.

St Mary and the Holy Rood Church in Donington will unveil their Flower Festival on April 22nd, and will be on show until the event ends on May 3rd. Other events during the festival include a bingo session, festival lunch, wine tasting, lunch and special church services.


 Weston Steam and Country Fair organisers are looking for Stall holders for the event on August 7th & 8th, where exibitors will show off tractors, cars, military vehicles. The event will take place just off the A151 and last year raised £1000 for charity. This year, they will be raising money for LIVES first responders and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance. For more details, call Peter Tyers on 01406 330012.

 Spalding Police need your help with Town Neighbourhood Policing Team

The police are looking for local residents to join a panel to tackle town centre problems. The panel will be able to find out more about the Designated Public Place Order and will be consulted on how to tackle problems in various local town centre locations.
